HOW IS THE TEST STRUCTURED?
The LSAT consists of five sections of multiple choice questions and a 35 minute writing sample. Each of the sections tests a different skill set. You will see the following on the day of the test:
Two (2) Logical Reasoning Sections
One (1) Reading Comprehension Section
One (1) Analytical Section (Logic Games)
One (1) ‘Experimental’ Section

WHY IS THE LSAT SO IMPORTANT TO MY OVERALL LAW SCHOOL APPLICATION?
The LSAT actually tests the three most important skills that a law school student uses in law school, and on-the-job as a lawyer – the ability to read quickly to glean the major concepts of a passage, the ability to apply rules and standards, and the ability to break down arguments. This is the reason why most law schools see an applicant’s LSAT score equal in importance to an applicant’s overall undergraduate GPA. In certain cases, bad LSAT scores have sunk some candidates’ chances to get into the law school of their choice.
Everyone knows that law schools are highly selective. If a person is able to get into a more selective law school, more career opportunities are open to that person than to another applicant who goes to a less selective school. For those people who are not seeking to attend a Tier 1 law school, the LSAT is important nonetheless. Law schools typically use the LSAT to decide between applicants with similar qualifications. For that reason, many people properly take the long view of the LSAT – it is a critical gateway that affects your entire career path as a lawyer. It is well worth your time and effort to prepare for the LSAT to the best of your ability.

I’M IN SCHOOL ALREADY (or) I’M A WORKING ADULT WITH RESPONSIBILITIES…I CAN’T AFFORD TO SPEND TIME STUDYING FOR A ONE-TIME TEST WHEN I HAVE ALL OF MY OTHER CLASSES TO FINISH/MY LIFE TO LIVE!
Actually, you can’t afford not to study for the LSAT!!! The average LSAT test-taker typically earns a score of 152. Most law schools average accepted students’ LSAT scores are higher than the national test taker average of 152!!! A law school applicant, therefore, needs to score at LEAST the national LSAT average of 152 or better in order just to get into law school. If the average person taking the LSAT were to get an additional
WHY CAN’T I JUST GET A BOOK AND GO THROUGH THE STRATEGIES MYSELF? HOW CAN ‘MyTestPrepAce’ HELP ME IMPROVE?
Top performers from all walks of life seek out the advice of coaches and trainers who have themselves succeeded in the very thing they train. A book can give you a listing of the strategies, but a tutor can show you insights that a book cannot, and can help you refine your skills. On the LSAT, timing and question-efficiency is critical. To stay within the time constraints of a section, test-takers typically need to answer a question in little over one minute. Therefore, strategic test-taking is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL in order to succeed on the LSAT and get a high score.
Not only have I successfully taken the LSAT by scoring in the 93rd percentile of my own test administration, but I also pride myself on being current with all of the different test prep books on the market and methodologies. Not any one test prep company has cornered the market exclusively on the best method for any one particular section of the LSAT. I have read virtually every test prep manual for the LSAT on the market today. I can assist you in becoming familiar with a variety of different strategies that will help you become efficient and effective on all portions of this test.
HOW AND WHERE WOULD OUR TUTORING SESSIONS TAKE PLACE? COULD YOU COME TO A PLACE CONVENIENT TO ME FOR TUTORING?
After gauging your strengths and weakness on the LSAT via a diagnostic exam, MyTestPrepAce will help you design a study program that will target your weakness, improve your question timing, and increase your overall test endurance. I can also assist you in design a structured, yet efficient program that can fit into your busy schedule.
Typically, I design my tutoring/teaching sessions to fit the needs of the individual student I’m helping. If you are just starting your preparation for the LSAT, I can lead you through a set of ‘mini-classes’ to teach you the basic skill sets. Such classes can save you hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars compared to the cost of classes through a major test prep company! Or, if you are looking to refine a particular skill set or to focus only the difficult question sets, I can tailor our lessons to focus on those types of questions.
As a professional, I always meet my students at times and locations convenient to them.
Typically, I like to tutor students in either a library or classroom setting with a blackboard and Wi-Fi access, though the blackboard and the Wi-Fi are not necessary. I can also meet you at a coffee shop, if you prefer!!
SOUNDS INTERESTING!!! ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW?
Most students I know want to hire a well-qualified tutor, but find the cost the large test prep companies charge to be prohibitive. With MyTestPrepAce.com, you get the best of both worlds – the experience of a former full-time, ‘master’ LSAT tutor at one of the major test prep companies, but for a fraction of the cost.
If you would like to study with a friend or with a group of friends, I do offer significant discounts for each additional student in a small-group tutoring situation (max – 4 people). Four people is the largest LSAT group size that, through experience, I feel does not significantly affect individual student comprehension.
Finally, I know it may sound ‘corny’ or ‘cheesy,’ but I really do care about my students’ performance and my ability to motivate and teach them. I consider it a privilege to serve others achieve their long-term career goals and dreams in this small way. Feel free to review testimonials from some of my former students on the 'References' page.
If you have any questions concerning my services, suggestions on how to structure your study time, or if you simply have general questions concerning LSAT study, I’d be happy to give you a free phone consultation.
